Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Submission Guidelines:

English or Malay Manuscript should be written using the following format:

Type : Microsoft Word

Font type: Times New Roman

Font Siza : 11

Spacing : 1.0

Arabic Manuscript should be written using the following format:

Type : Microsoft Word

Font type : Traditional Arabic

Spacing : 1.0

The length of the article should not be more than 7000 words in lenght (excluding the abstracts, notes/ footnotes, references, tables and/or figures). All submitted articles will be subjected to a double-blind review by an anonymous and indepent reviewer.

Manuscripts in general should be organized in the following order:

Absract Page : Author(s) and Corresponding author information. This page should contain the full title of your paper with name(s) of all the authors, instutions and corresponding author's name, institution and full address (Stress address, telephone number (including extension), hand phone number and e-mail address) for editorial correspondence.

Text : Research Papers should be prepared with the concept of IMRAD (Introduction, Materils and Methods, Results and Disccussion) and ended with Conclusions.

Illustrations: Tables, figures and plates should not be inserted within the pages of the manuscript but should be submitted on separate sheets attached to the article. Tables should be prepared with the minimum use of horizontal rules (usually three are sufficient) and avoiding vertical rules. It is important to provide clear copy of figures (not photocopies of faxes) which can be reproduced by the printer and do not require redrawing.

Citation Format/ References: The Journal of Islamic Civilization follows the APA (American Psychological Association) style for all in-text citation and Chicago style for footnote referencing system. List of References/Bibliography should include (in alphabetical order by author) every work cited in the text. Authors are asked to ensure that dates, spelling and titles are used in the References are consistent with those listed in the text.

Abstract

An Abstract lenght; not more than 300 words. For Malay or Arabic manuscript an ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT AND TITLE IN ENGLISH must be accompanied with the manuscript. Keywords of three (3) to five (5) words.
